WHAT IS SO-COL?

SO-COL empowers creators, brands and communities by with tools for them to leverage on the utility of NFTs. How?SO-COL’s vision is to bring millions of users into Web3 by bridging the gap between Web2 and Web3. In this article, we explain what it is that we do at SO-COL.

What problems does SO-COL solve?

SO-COL is disrupting how we experience Web3 technologies. To many people, Web3 technologies still seem inaccessible and distant.The current market does not offer any meaningful tool for creators and fans to manage and grow their communities together.1. Whilst Discord and Telegram offer limited community management tools, these are Web2 in nature. These platforms cannot interact with on chain Dapps or smart contracts. Therefore, they cannot integrate off chain community management tools with on-chain features.2. Whether it is Patreon, Twitch, or OnlyFans, the community members are just users. They cannot take part in the platform or community management, as the management rights are all in the hands of the platforms.3. Web2 social platforms such as Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, or OnlyFans do not provide any reward to fans for their participation and contribution in the growth of the community. Fans purely “consume” contents such as paying for gated contents. However, they do not truly own a stake in the community and cannot benefit from owning such stakes.

What is SO-COL’s Solution?

SO-COL builds tools that solve the problems above:1. The first set out of tools are community management and governance tools, which allow the creators and fans engage in a more meaningful and deeper way.2. The second set out of tools are NFT minting tools which allow the creators and fans to hold a stake and redeem utility in the community by actually owning the community NFTs.3. Finally, SO-COL is building a marketplace which allows creators and fans to sell and trade their community NFTs and hence receive rewards for growing their community and adding utility to the community NFTs.See the details of SO-COL’s products below.

The SO-COL App (Platform)

The SO-COL platform is an all-in-one community management social platform. It provides all the tools needed to create and manage a community empowered by Web3 technologies. On the platform, communities will be able to do the following in their community space:- post community feeds- engage in public and private chats- set token-gated contents and chats- sell and trade community collectables in fiat and crypto currency- raise and vote on proposalsAs a community owner, you can set up different tiers in your community space, namely the public tier, the social tier, and the premium tier.- The public tier will be open to anyone on SO-COL to join, and you can post contents available for all to see. The public tier will also support public chat. This is where all of your community members can gather. Imagine a public square or town hall.- The social tier will be a restricted tier where only users with the community “Social Collectables” can access. Social Collectables will be generated from the existing social media contents of the community owners’ linked social media accounts, such as Instagram, Twitter or TikTok.

The community owners can post gated contents in this tier, and also engage in more interaction with the users through the chat function.Users with Social Collectables can trade them with other users in the community market using fiat currency, or can mint the Social Collectables into NFTs and trade in the Global Market using crypto currency.- The premium tier is even more exclusive, as the Premium Collectables would be custom made and sold through a Dutch Auction. Holders of the Premium Collectable can enter the community’s premium channel, and can also raise and vote on proposals. Community owners will also be able to deliver online or off-line utilities to premium collectable holders, such as customised merchandise or offline events.Premium Collectables can be traded in the community market with fiat currency or can be minted into NFTs and traded in the Global Market with cryptocurrency.SO-COL strives to deliver familiar and intuitive UI/UX for users. Existing community management platforms typically suffer from unfortunate UX/UI. The DAO tooling space is often glaringly fragmented, leading to communities and individuals having to settle for ineffective means for engagement and poor cross-app integrations. The SO-COL White Label Product

With SO-COL’s White Label solution, brands, celebrities, non-profit collectives and beyond can dive into NFTs and web3 with ease. Many brands, personalities, and companies want to get into the NFT space. But they have struggled because they do not have the necessary technology or knowhow.SO-COL’s white label solution helps brands build their own NFT minting website. We provide the backend infrastructure and smart contracts. Our white label solution has a few key features which reduce the barriers of entry for the end-users to own their first NFT:a. We allow log-in using web2 social handles such as email, Instagram, or Twitter, and create a non-custodial wallet automatically for users without the usual cumbersome process.b. We allow the end-users to purchase NFTs using fiat payment, removing the initial hurdle of having to purchase crypto currencies before purchasing NFTs.c. We also allow users to define how they wish the NFTs to be minted, such as airdrop, purchase, merging, burning, or white listing.

We also provide consultancy services to clients to help them design real life utilities behind their branded NFTs. Customers can of course then manage their NFT community using the SO-COL Platform.

The SO-COL Global Marketplace

SO-COL’s Global Marketplace is the go-to place to list and trade utility NFTs. This may be your premium collectables and social collectibles from the SO-COL platform or NFTs from one of your favourite brands or projects.What sets SO-COL’s Global Market apart from the usual marketplaces is the fact that the NFTs traded on SO-COL’s Global Market would be backed by utilities generated from the SO-COL Platform and SO-COL White Label solutions. We do not just sell pixelated profile pics.In line with SO-COL’s overarching vision, SO-COL’s Global Market is also working with key partners and solution providers to make available trading with fiat currency, as well as low cost, eco-friendly, and high speed on-chain transactions.
